I've seen your cab on CL (I'm in the New England area) but I have two JCM 800 1982A cabs loaded with G12-80's already. My advise to you would be to sell the speakers on Ebay for $300.

I've been trawling TGP and other websites but I can't find any modern variants or reissues of the 'tall' straight fronted Marshall 4x12 , the 1982B. The original dates back to 1966-1970 I believe and was used by Hendrix, Clapton, Beck, The Who and others. It was also reissued a few years ago as

This has always been the case. As was true in the 60's and 70's, the 1982 model cabs of the early 80's also had higher wattage speakers than the standard 1960A and B cabs. I can't speak for the Marshall 8X10, but I am totally in love with the sounds I'm getting through my '73 Ampeg SVT 8X10 cab with the Hot Cat 100R. The deep chambered SVT cab design along with the original CTS AlNiCo's adds such a wonderful whomp to the sound at nearly any volume while still delivering plenty of sparkle and chime.
